Salone del Mobile 2021. One week of design and Negroni, reuniting with old friends and making new ones. Follow us through Milan, behind the scenes of the making of the Hem Gallery and Garden, through the lenses of Hem’s Art Director, Cristina and Head of Brand, Levi. Shot on film with Olympus Mju 2 and Nikon F100.

After more than a year of lockdowns around the world, and a complete absence of any form of larger physical event or celebration, this year's Milan Design Week was truly special to us.
It felt both like a restart and as an encouraging sign of things possibly being somewhat back on track within the near future.

We’re thrilled that so many of you came to celebrate with us, and it was a welcome reminder that what we do is a million times more important when we get to share it with you, our community 💙.

This year for Milan Design Week we had recent launches like the Boa Pouf by Sabine Marcelis and the Puffy Lounge Chair by Faye Toogood on display for the first time. And on top that we also previewed two brand new product collaborations, Hooked by Martino Gamper and Stump Tables by Faye Toogood.

Hooked by Martino Gamper, the latest launch from the brand’s limited-edition decorative accessory line curated by Modern Design Review. Sold as a set, Hooked contains five signed aluminium wall hooks by the Italian designer, each with an independent character distinctly different from the next. Together, the hooks form a palette of shapes and colours that embody Gamper’s captivating design language.

The new Stump Table collection is developed from Toogood’s exploration of working with MDF, finding ways to create beautiful rounded shapes without using solid timber.

The result is a series of tables that are reduced to their most basic elements to create an understated and elegant form. The slab-like tables feature elegant curves that are both contemporary and classic and can fit seamlessly into any setting yet also considered a statement piece in its own right.
